![]() Rating: - Great Cooling deviceSince the purchase I had not one crash and shutdown from over heating. Computer even runs faster and stays cool. Bought another one from another laptop. Recommend this one. Rating: - NO PASS THROUGH USB CONNECTORThe unit does NOT come with a pass through USB connector! This is the 2nd unit I've purchased - the first one I got, a couple of years ago at least, DID HAVE a pass through connector but this one does not! What the heck? It is a good thing that I don't need the connection on the computer I am using it with or else I would have had to return the product. Having said that and being annoyed that an item is not as it is presented!!!!! this laptop cooler really does work. I just purchased a new Dell fully loaded and it runs hot. I didn't use the cooler from my old laptop at first but after seeing how hot the new Dell was, I took it off my old laptop and put it on the new one...WOW - what a difference, it cooled it off right away. That was my reason for purchasing the 2nd one - to replace the one under my old laptop. However - be aware IF YOU NEED THE PASS THROUGH CONNECTOR - you won't be getting one! Rating: - Great cooler for any laptopI ordered this cooler at about 5pm one night and got it the next morning. It's a great cooler for any laptop. My father has this same one and I have used his in the past and I wanted to get my own. It is really great. Rating: - Severely disappointedBefore this arrived in the mail, I was beyond excited. My fairly brand new laptop (fall 2009) began making loud 'engine' noises, and blowing very warm (HOT) heat out of the left side. This was not only amazingly disappointing but concerning/frustrating as it was/is 'new' and a(n expensive gift). So, I researched the best cooling pads for laptops and came across this one. It seemed to be the best option for the price range. It had raving reviews so I was pumped - the solution to my problem. Ease, at last. First, the blue light on the side (which means it is working - 'in power'- is impossible to make stay on. I have to position the cord very specifically. It's almost like moving the antenna around various wall locations to get a signal that will work for more than a few minutes. Once the light is ON, it doesn't stay on for long, and the frustration is repeated. What makes this worse? My laptop is no 'cooler' than it was before. Even now I can still ... Read More Rating: - good enough for a netbooki have a couple of gripes -- nothing too serious, but they may warrant re-consideration before purchasing this product. 1 - mine did NOT arrive with the USB pass-thru connector. i read another review that also reported the pass-thru missing; perhaps this is not an oversight but an intentional change in the product? 2 - the HI-LOW fan switch felt a bit too small. it was hard to find with my fingertips, and hard to switch the fan setting. i'm used to it after a day of use, but imho a less cramped location and a bigger switch would work better. 3 - the blue on/off light is too bright. electrical tape works if you want to cover the light, but painter's / masking tape works, too, and is easier to cut/rip into pieces than electrical tape. yes, the masking tape IS thin, and does let the light pass thru, but you just have to layer the tape pieces few times in order to dim the light to your preference. what i liked -- the temperature difference ...
