![]() Rating: - Quiet but not very much coolingI bought this about a week ago and am sad to say I am returning, dont get me wrong its quiet, easy to install, and looks nice, adequete for the average user but not exactly what an overclocker is probably looking for.For overclockers your going to want something with a bit more power thats for sure. Rating: - Compact Design, Very Effective CoolingI used this cooler to replace a stock fan on an ASUS EN9800GT/HTDP/512MD3 GeForce 9800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card. The Asus fan was too noisy for me. The Zalman VF900-Cu cooler significantly brought down noise levels. A fan speed controller allows fine-tuning of the noise/cooling ratios. Initially, I was a bit skeptical of the fan controller, but I've come to appreciate it. The best thing about this fan is that it's very compact, and allows SLI configurations in side-by-side PCI2 slots. This isn't possible with the Zalman VF700-Cu Copper Ultra-Quiet VGA Video Card Cooler. I have installed both the VF700-Cu and VP900-Cu and the VF700 seems quieter at stock speeds; but with the fan speed controller, the VF900 is the quietest. Both Zalman coolers kept my EN9800GT at 36 degrees Celsius. Pros: - Easy installation - Compact design, compatible with SLI configurations - Very quiet - Good cable length - Use ... Read More Rating: - It does workI installed this on an ATI X1900 in a MacPro. The only problem is the thumb nuts that hold it on protrude from the back of the card and would not allow the card to be inserted in the 16 lane slot. Rating: - Noisless VGA Card FanI purchased this card to replace the OEM fan on my ATI Radeon Pro 9800 card in a Macintosh G5. The OEM fan was noisy; a high pitched whine which made it hard to concentrate or hear in the rest of the room. Installation was somewhat easy. I suggest you read the instructions through several times before attempting this. You will need some form of solvent, I used oil-less nail polish remover, to remove the old grease. Above all, be gentle. Some of the parts are very fragile. Rating: - Incredible CoolerThis cooler is fantastic. The build quality is very very good, and it dropped the temperature of my ATI Radeon 4850 video card from 70C down to 36C. It's also whisper quiet. I'm definitely building this brand again. Installation was very easy. One word of warning: you should buy the heat sink paste cleaner kit and clean the old paste really well, on both the graphic chip as well as the memory chips (the latter will be cooled by the small aluminum heat sinks which come with this product). I bought the Arctic cleaning solutions for that. Quite often people also buy the Arctic Silver heat-conducting paste. I just used the zinc paste which came with the product and I didn't have any troubles with it. |
