Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - good product
I bought this for proctor testing for online classes. The quality of the pic is not great. I have not used the sound so I do not know what to expect. I also have never used another cam like this so the quality may be very good. I don't know. Overall, it does a great job for what I need it for and it's a good price.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love this little piece of equipment....
Clear, takes great pictures, visible to other party when using SKYPE. Great buy for the price. As far as sound is concerned I have found I still have to use headset with mic.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great camera for the cost!
I bought this back in 08 and it still doing its job! Has pretty good picture resolution even in darker settings. Great sound, only lags when the internet connectivity is slow like in Iraq and Afghanistan, but other than that I have no complains about it! Easy to set up and put away, stays on laptops fairly well as long as you aren't moving all over the place. Would recommended for anyone with laptops or PC's with Windows Vista or Windows XP which is what I had when I bought it and what I have now, but works better with Windows Messenger than with Yahoo Messenger, haven't tried it with anything else.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - NOT good for windows 7
I bought this back when I used to have an XP system. It was fine because you could easily program it to use another microphone over the built-in one. That was a GREAT thing because there is nothing but a constant EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE noise. This feature was taken away with thier recent format you have to get to make the webcam compatible with 7. The only way I can get the microphone override is reinstall it and set the other microphone to default (by going into contol panel>sound). BUT THIS ONLY LASTS UNTIL YOU CLOSE THE PROGRAM. Then there is NO WAY to get the other mic to work again. I HAVE LITERALLY INVESTED HOURS IN TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT!!! It cannot be done without reinstalling it every time. I'm just going to have to buy a new webcam. Don't waste your money on this if you want it to last. Eventually you will get a new computer that will come with Windows 7 and you'll have nothing but headache.

If someone can show me how to successfully override the built-in microphone, ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Little Webcam
I was pleasantly surprised after connecting this webcam (installation was a cinch, unlike another I tried). My computer is no spring chicken and my video card would win no races at Aqueduct. Yet, this Microsoft LiveCam performs magnificently. I would have done a video review, but I didn't want to scare half the population with my old face and big eye glasses which the camera "too accurately" reproduces - I only freak out people I know with it. Kidding aside, yes the image is great and equal to costlier units. The cam itself is small. unobtrusive and needs no adjustments. It just works and works great. I wanted to give one to Uncle Harriet, but I don't think it works with a Commodore 64, but it works fantastically with computers a few years shy of Wi Fi.This review comes from the heart, I was never invited to coffee at Bill Gates' house. It just is a great product.
