![]() Rating: - Excellent player - smaller and lighter than ipod and has FM radioI really like this player - PROS: Smaller and lighter than the ipod Very portable Has an FM radio built in Easy to use You can watch Amazon videos on it CONS: not compatible with itunes - which is OK for music/vidoes since itunes is overpriced, but I am not sure how to get podcasts onto the Zen Rating: - not as good as the last oneI had been using a Creative Zen for about 8 years and was mostly happy with the device. Good sound quality etc. But when I dropped it, it was obviously time to buy a new MP3. I initially purchased a refurbished Zune and it sucked, no instruction manual, would not sync with Rhapsody, so I returned it and went with what I had had luck with in the past. I had issues getting the device and my computer to sync, and could not use the start up disc as my drive is bad, I could not find any place on Creative's site to download the program. Went to another computer and it worked out ok. My biggest issue with the device at this time is that I have had to reset it multiple times. Sometimes after charging and disconnecting from the computer and one time when i really needed it, as I use my MP3 when I teach my fitness classes. Overall the sound quality is pretty good, I just do not like not knowing if I am going to have to reset the machine minutes before I am supposed to start teaching a class. ... Read More Rating: - A very good playerThe player is very good. The reason they lost one star from me was their exaggerated advertisement stating that the battery life between recharges is 30 hours of audio. My testing with the "Lock" feature enabled which causes the screen to go black to save power, lasts approximately 15 hours. The 30 hour time frame was a selling pitch for me. The upside is it does charge up quickly. Another problem I experienced is if you are an audio book/podcaster the unit does not remember where you left off if you jump to another program. The Bookmark function is very impractical. It would have been better for the manufacturer to have programmed a memory mark so you can pick up where you last left off. Now, the positives. The screen is really nice. If you are a video watcher this is like a tiny HDTV. The 32GB which comes out to about 29GB is far sufficient for my several thousand songs and several dozen podcasts, and several audio books! It is great to have access to so much media ... Read More Rating: - I'm impressedI bought this item to listen to books on a 3+ week road trip. First of all there were minimal instructions on how to use this devise. My grandkids were no help. All they said was it's intuitive. Finally after help from a neighbor and our local library we got it charged, programed, downloaded, and working. I am very impressed with the devise. The controls are a bit sensitive. I often press the wrong "button" or I press 2 functions at the same time. I do have large thumbs. The ear buds sound good, but I can't keep those things in my ear for more than 30 minutes. I bought a pair of earmuff style ear phones at CVS. Big improvement in ear comfort. When shutting the ZEN off after listening do not press the pause button and then the power button. This will result is the next power up to go to the beginning of the "disk" you were listening to. To turn it off go right to the power button and turn it off there. The next power on will start right where you stopped. For some reason the ZEN clock ... Pod casts, audio books, & music much more and more easily available content than Ipod, also more user friendly. FM radio works great and is a must for a person who travels. Don't use video feature...no hand held screen is large enough to interest me in squinting at movies. | |||||||||||||||
