This was recommended to me by a friend who had a different model but from the same company. The cooling pad is great, noise level is minimal (I think the computer fan might be louder when this is on high). It has two USB ports on the back (one connects directly to your computer so you only have one free). I haven't had any heat issues with my computer, even when left on for hours and watching a movie or using software, it stays cool like it was just turned on.
