Product Description:
DIAMOND WONDER 750 USB HD CTLRNTSC PAL SECAM TV TUNER

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - BSOD problems with Vista
Bought this on a lark.

Pros: The tuner is as sensitive as any I've owned. It picks up marginal signals well. The display ranges from great with an ATSC signal to just OK with watchable NTSC channels.

Cons: Causes my Vista basic with all updates to BSOD every time I try to remove it safely.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Worthless Software makes this Item Unusable
Attempting to load or find drivers for the Diamond Multimedia TVW750USB is beyond frustrating, this item will not load its drivers from the CD, and in fact crashed my computer twice while trying. The company is not helpful, and in fact offers a "solution" that is unworkable for anyone with limited computer experience.

Computer the problem occurred on: Dell XPS630i gaming computer, Windows XP Professional 32 bit, Dual Nvida 8800GT with SLI Enabled, 4 Gigs of good RAM, Plenty of hard drive space available with two Western Digital Raptors in Zero config for hard drives, (both good) Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8500 3.16 GHz, BIOS Fully updated (more on that below).

Drivers CD supplied with this product is worthless. Very, very, slow to load, once the CD is in the DVD/CD Drive, and then gives many pop-up warnings such as "Your D drive drawer" is not closed" (Yes it is, and I cross-checked that with another CD, it works fine for everyone else's CD), "The disc is not in the ... Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Tuner is good, remote is poor and customer service awful
First of all the tuner performs fine. It receives all of the same channels as my TV tuner does. But it does not have the dynamic range as my TV tuner. The contrasts are not nearly as good as my Sony TV but it's tolerable. There are some times that the tuner will lock up and media center says that there are no available tuners. You then need to disconnect and reconnect the usb port. This usually occurs when you are trying to change media center states too quickly. If you are careful with the controls then this should not happen. What I dislike is the software that comes with the tuner. It's very limited in how it gets the daily TV schedule and so programming the recording time is difficult. It's only good point is that it saves the recorded program in a standard format that you can edit. However, I choose to use media center for recording and playback even though it records in its own file format that needs to be converted to be edited. The worst thing about the tuner is that I can't ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Spectacular, replacing a Hauppage WinTV HVR 1950
Absolutely satisfied today.
Even if the Hauppage debris I disposed of was still working, this would blow it away. Installed on my Toshiba Windows 5 easily. Using the supplied ATI TotalMedia software = clear HD channel viewing, no lag full screen, good audio. Simple GUI! Simple recording!
Foibles? Crap user guide, lengthy channel scan, I need to sort out the channels after the scan... remote to be determined.. but this first day of install, brilliant product.

Let's see how long it'll last.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Surprisingly easy
I was a bit apprehensive about this based on the mixed reviews. My experience, however, was very positive. I am running Vista on a desktop machine. Installation took about 5 minutes. Set up, including Windows Media Center, took another 10 mins. I was able to receive about half of the channels in my area with ease. I plan to reposition the attenna to see if I can improve that but for right out of the box I am satisfied. Instructions aren't the best but manageable. Remote is a bit sluggish but does work in time. Give it a try.
