 Rating:  - Tried To Format Drive for 2 Days! POS!I tried to format drive for 2 days using 3 different programs/utils: Windows Disk Management, Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool 2.36, and Data Lifeguard Diagnostic (longshot but the product description said "produced by one company (Western Digital)". Total Attempts: 10! Failed on ALL ATTEMPTS! I even tried other OSes, creating multiple partitions (worked for 1TB only!), and adding jumper settings (via Western Digital's website). All in all, I took Ricardo's advise here on Amazon and went the cheaper route. And I got what I paid for! I should have went with my original WD20EARS now that the price has dropped! I'm not blaming Ricardo, his HD may work perfectly fine, but this computer guy just got a HUGE LEMON! Additional Notes: Purchased from [...] - Shipping was fast. I've never bought from them before, not sure if they knew about the faults of this drive, but RMA'd the drive in less than 3 days! Also hard drive was OEM, but came in static bag - when I opened the static bag ... Read More Rating:  - For 109 dollars this drive is a steal. I ran every check on this disk possible and it passed!I opened this bad boy up and crossed checked everything it was just as described. I ran every disk check possible and it passed. It does run a few degrees over some of my other disks and it's not really the greatest energy saver but if you don't mind those little things buy as many as you can before they run out! Great performance and the inner machinery seemed like it was built to last, so now all that is left is to just see if this remains true with time. GREAT BUY!!! |
