Man, Installing WinXP, Drivers, Driver Updates, Windows Updates.. Is taking forever.
I've been at it a while now.

I added this side 70CM fan with a 120MM adapter because the southbridge seems very hot.

Well, It looks like the RMA G31 will be here Monday. WTF. How long ago was that?
I guess I waited a while to send it back, No big deal, I'll finish the build next week.

I did however overclock the E1400 to 3.2GHZ last night, in the 780i. No benchmarks as of yet..
I would like to run 3Dmark Vantage before the G31 gets here. this Intel Celeron E1400 is not bad.

Past couple of days I've been configuring Apache Web Server.
I thought it would be easy, It was but after all the changes to conf files, setting up virtual hosts etc..
I found my problem was the Shebang line in Windows has to be #!C:\perl\bin\perl.exe, not what I expected.
The usual method is #!usr/local/bin/perl, 2 days of trying to configure Apache, and it was just that simple.
Anyone who finds this and wondering why perl is not working in Apache or Xampp etc.. here's all need to do.
  1. Install Apache, or Xampp Apache
  2. Install Active PERL from Activestate.com to C:\ or applicable
  3. Change the Shebang line in all your CGI/PERL scripts .cgi/.pl to #!C:\perl\bin\perl.exe

Well I think the artifact problem with Crysis was just the server I was on,
It has'nt done it since

I spoke to soon about the 186.18 drivers from nvidia.
Here ia a video with artifacting in Crysis Wars, Map: Mesa.

Great News! The RMA for the Foxconn G31 was not only approved, But they refunded me the shipping fees.
I did not even ask. Now that is great customer service.

This is interesting. Which one of these Webcams works with Windows Vista & Vista 64-bit?

Answer:
The XBOX 360 Live Webcam (left), And the quality of video & speed is amazing compared to the others.
Not to mention the other webcams will not even work with Windows Vista or Vista 64-bit.

Nvidia Driver 186.18, I had some major issues with these drivers.
Problem solved - Uninstalled drivers, Ran Sweeper, Manually removed any remaining nv files.
Uninstalled all monitoring software associated with Nvidia GPU Drivers, Such as EVGA Precision Tool.
Updated Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate to Service Pack 2. (Ha Ha) that was the issue.
Re-Installed everything, and these drivers kick @$$.

I thought since I had the E1400 in the 780i board, I would do a little Benchmarking & Overclocking.

Here's the 3Dmark Vantage Score with stock BIOS settings no overclocking - 9,471 3D Marks.
I am very impressed with this score, I can't wait to see the score Overclocked.

Well I got up early this morning, pulled the CPU & Ram from the G31 & 780i.
I tested the E1400 CPU & RAM in the EVGA 780i board, and they work fine.
I noticed a flaw in the Foxconn G31's CPU socket pins.
RMA has been setup, Will cost another $10.00 shipping, So much for budget building.

Foxconn G31MXP-K LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX

By the way,
Of all the components I have purchased I have only had 2 RMAs to speak of. really not that bad.

Happy Fourth Of July!

Finished the G31, But it did not post.
Seems to be a faulty board or CPU. I Will investigate further this week,
Then RMA if necasary.
